Therapeutic Approach
Serena’s approach begins with the formulation of the therapeutic alliance, allowing for the unique and individual perspective of each client to be the guiding focus. She recognizes personal transformation and healing as a nonlinear, organic process that requires understanding, tending, and cultivation, as well as humor and curiosity. She uses client centered techniques to lay a foundation of compassion and empathy, with depth approaches to support deep and lasting change. She also provides dreamwork, active imagination, and involvement of creative practices as therapeutic and mindfulness techniques for interested clients.
Education and Credentials
Serena holds a M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and a BA from Antioch University in psychology and the arts. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the State of Washington.
